Privacy Policy

Spark of Clarity ("we," "us," or "Spark of Clarity") is a marketing strategy and customer-experience consultancy for small-business owners and nonprofit leaders. This policy explains what we collect through our Business Insights Survey, why, and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain English on purpose.

1. Who is responsible

Spark of Clarity, founded by Christina Gentry, is the data controller for the information you share. You can reach us with any privacy question or request at christina@sparkofclarity.com.

2. What we collect

When you complete the Business Insights Survey, we ask for:

Contact & business details: name, organization, email, phone (optional), website (optional), how long you've been in business, and your approximate annual revenue or budget.

Your responses: your marketing challenges, goals, priorities, and preferences — the substance of the survey questions.

If you opt into our Local Business Spotlight: your founder story, what makes you different, who you serve, your social handles, and (if you choose to send it) your logo. We use this only to feature you, with your permission.

We do not collect sensitive categories such as health, racial, religious, or political information, and the survey is intended for business owners and organizational leaders — not minors.

3. Why we collect it (and our legal basis)

We collect your information because you voluntarily share it with us, and because it's in our legitimate interest to follow up with you, understand your needs, and explore a potential working relationship. Specifically, we use it to:

· Personally review every response and shape our services;
· Follow up with you about the survey, a complimentary Discovery Conversation, or the Local Business Spotlight;
· Add your details to our customer relationship management (CRM) system so we can stay in touch and serve you well.

Where we email you or feature your business, we rely on your consent, which you give by submitting the survey and (for the Spotlight) by opting in.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We use a small number of service providers who process it on our behalf:

Google — responses are stored in Google Sheets and sent via Google Apps Script; follow-up emails are sent from our Google Workspace account. Google acts as our data processor under its own terms and Google Workspace data commitments.
Our CRM — your details may be transferred into our internal CRM for relationship management.
Calendly — only if you choose to book a Discovery Conversation; they receive the details you provide in that booking.
Our email provider — used to send you follow-up messages.

Because Google and our email provider are US-based, your information may be processed outside your home country. Where required (for example, for respondents in the UK or EU), we rely on Google's documented safeguards and standard contractual clauses.

5. Cookies and tracking

The survey itself does not set advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not run third-party trackers on it. (If we ever add analytics or advertising tools, we'll update this policy and request your consent before they load.)

6. How long we keep it

We keep survey responses for as long as they're relevant to our relationship with you — for example, while we're in touch about a Discovery Conversation, the Spotlight, or potential work — and then for a reasonable period afterward, or until you ask us to delete them.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your information, to withdraw consent, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email christina@sparkofclarity.com and we'll act promptly. You can also unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in the message.

8. Local Business Spotlight consent

If you opt into the Spotlight and share your story, logo, or social handles, you agree that we may publish that content on our website and related materials to feature your organization. You can ask us to remove it at any time.

9. Children

This survey is for business owners and organizational leaders. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices evolve. The "Last updated" date above shows when it was last revised.
